Tk 180cr land dev work for Sabrang Tourism Park approved

The government is set to develop the land for the proposed Sabrang Tourism Park at Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar district at a cost of Tk 180.69 crore.

A virtual meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement, chaired by finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on Thursday approved three separate proposals in this regard.

At the end of the meeting, additional secretary to the Cabinet division, Md. Zahirul Islam told the media that the land development work of the Sabrang Park at Teknaf has started. Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) under the Prime Minister’s Office is executing the land development work.

Two companies namely, TDC and ZHEC Dhaka, jointly got the construction work, he said.

The other proposals approved at the meeting are: The Department of Public Works under the Ministry of Housing and Public Works has got approval of a project the revised contract value of which is Tk 178.57 crore.

In addition, another project of the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority under the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has been approved and the revised contract value of the project is Tk 379.52 crore.

Sabrang Tourism Park will be the first exclusive tourism park in the Cox’s Bazar district encompassing an area of 1,027 acres. Sabrang is an amazing hill and sea beach territory, multifaceted, diverse and beautiful.
