Beximco Limited pulls DSEX up

Dhaka stock market bounced back strongly on Tuesday as many investors poured their money into the shares again.

As a result, all indices and turnover increased significantly. DSEX, the key main index of the bourse, rose nearly 80 points or 1.19 percent to close the day at 6,771.

Interestingly, turnover increased significantly to over Tk 957 crore, up over 50 percent from that of Monday.

Beximco Limited alone accounted for Tk 135 crore, which was one-seventh of the total turnover. Also, the share price of Beximco gained 3.48 percent to Tk 160 and contributed over 8 points in the index.

Overall, share prices of two-third companies rose, while only 18 percent witnessed a fall on the day.
