Noted industrialist Nasir Biswas passes away

Nasir Uddin Biswas, Chairman and Managing Director of Nasir Group of Industries and a veteran industrialist, passed away at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka at 7 am on Monday, an executive of the conglomerate confirmed the matter to Business Insider Bangladesh.

Nasir, 78, wasn’t keeping well for the last several months.

He was well known for innovation and diversification of manufacturing bases in the country. Though he began his business career with tobacco trading in the early 1970s, he expanded his business to diversified products.

Nasir Group has exposure to plastics, melamine, keds (footwear), float glass, CFL lamps, glass tableware, and glass tubing for fluorescent and energy-saving lamps, etc.
