Stocks opened lower on Wednesday amid surge in coronavirus cases.
First 30 minutes into trade, the benchmark DSEX fell 43 points or 0.79% to 5,370.
Other indices, the Shariah-based DSES index was down marginally 8 points or 0.67% to 1,229 and blue-chip DS30 was down 21 points or 1% to 2,042.
Out of issues so far traded, 27 advanced, 158 declined and 71 remained unchanged.
