Corruption a big problem in budget implementation: Agriculture minister

Corruption is a big problem in the implementation of the budget, Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak has said.

The minister was speaking at the Shadow Parliament organised by the Debate for Democracy at the FDC in Dhaka on Saturday.

He said social security programmes are contributing to the reduction of poverty and improvement in the living standards of marginalised people.

In this year’s budget, he said, priority has been given to the health sector considering the corona situation.

The government has also given priority to the development of small and medium enterprises so that entrepreneurs can generate jobs in the local areas during the pandemic, he added.

Modernisation of agriculture and improvement of living standard of farmers is one of the priorities of the government, said the minister.
