KSRM inaugurates lighter jetty at Chattogram’s Sadarghat

KSRM Steel Plant Limited on Thursday launched a lighter jetty at the fourth pontoon of Sadarghat in the river of Karnaphuli.

The jetty was inaugurated in a simple ceremony attended by some high officials of Chattogram Port Authority and KSRM, respectively.

Sarower Jahan Rokon, Deputy Manager and Director of KSRM said the jetty will be used for loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products for the steel plant. However, when idle, the jetty could be rented to serve other companies, Rokon said.

Nasir Uddin, Senior Hydrograph of Chattogram Port, Saiful Alam, Deputy Traffic Manager (Operation) of the Port, Saiful Hasan Chhowdhury, Executive Engineer of the Port and Karim Uddin, Deputy Manager and Director of KSRM attended the programme among others.
