Stocks open lower

Dhaka stocks opened lower on Tuesday, breaking their recent gains for the sixth day in a row.

In first 30 minutes of the trade, the benchmark DSEX index edged 4 points or 0.07 percent down at 5,049.

On the other hand, the DSES Index was also marginally 1 point lower at 1,158 and blue chip DS30 Index fell over 2 points or 0.4 percent at 1,760.

Stocks saw mostly lower as out of issues so far traded, 139 was in red, 86 in green and 77 remained unchanged. The turnover stood at Tk 129 crore in the opening session.

The market might see some correction today after a long rally in recent weeks, analysts say.
