Data use by Banglalink’s customers increased by whooping 43.7 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2021 as users embrace digital facilities for keeping their works on amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Banglalink succeeded to keep up its growth trajectory in Q2 2021 with solid performances in all segments,” said Erik Aas, chief executive officer of Banglalink, the third largest telecom operator in Bangladesh.
“We registered a 6.9 percent year-on-year revenue growth, which was driven by a 15.1 percent year-on-year growth in our data revenue and 7 percent year-on-year growth in our service revenue,” Aas said on Banglalink’s performance in the second quarter of 2021.
Banglalink said its customer-base and data customer-base also grew by 7 percent and 8.9 percent, respectively, in the quarter that ended on June 30.
“As a result of our efforts to encourage more customers to embrace digital facilities, Toffee saw a significant surge in popularity with its monthly active users base reaching 5 million,” said the CEO of the company.
He also said the third consecutive Ookla Speedtest award is yet another indication of Banglalink’s consistent performance in the second quarter and the nationwide expansion of its 4G network.
