Stocks back to green

Dhaka stocks were back to positive after opening marginally lower on Wednesday amidst local and global cues.

At 1.30pm, the benchmark DSEX index gained 23 points or 0.46 percent at 5,073 while the DSES index rose over 4 points of 0.40 percent at 1,163 and blue chip DS30 Index added 7 points or 0.39 percent at 1,767.

Stocks saw mostly higher as out of issues so far traded, 161 advanced, 103 declined and 89 remained unchanged. The turnover stood at Tk 597 crore until mid-session.

Market participants were keenly watching rising coronavirus cases and financial stimulus package implementation to weather the pandemic fallout, according to brokers.
