Officials directed to successfully execute OMS, TCB programmes

The officials of various administrations were given necessary directives to carry out successful implementation of low-priced food distribution programmes, including OMS and TCB sales, which are set to start from September 1, across the country.
Senior Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah gave the directives through a videoconferencing with field level officials, said a PMO statement in the city on Tuesday evening, reports BSS.
Senior secretary of the Industries Ministry, secretary of the Food Ministry and PMO officials joined the videoconferencing.
According to the statement, over 50.10 lakh enlisted families across the country will receive 30 kgs of rice per month for Taka 15 per kgs through dealers from Thursday next.
Besides, an individual will get the highest 5 kgs of rice a day at Taka 30 through 2,363 centres of open market sale (OMS) across the country.
About one crore Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) cardholder families across the country, however, will get 5 kg of rice in every fortnight at Taka 30 per kg from OMS dealers.
