Actor Abdul Kader no more

Renowned actor Abdul Kader passed away at the Evercare Hospital in the capital at 8:20am today.
His daughter-in-law Zahida Islam confirmed this news.
Earlier, the actor was diagnosed with stage IV cancer while undergoing treatment at Christian Medical Hospital in Chennai. Physicians there had declared that he was not physically fit enough to go through chemotherapy.
He was then taken back to Dhaka on December 20. After returning to Dhaka, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital. But he had tested positive for Covid-19 after being admitted to the hospital.
Born in Sonarong village of Munshiganj’s Tongibari, Kader got involved in theatre activities from his student life. He started his illustrious acting career with the role of Amal in Rabindranath Tagore's play "Daakghor".
His popularity reached its peak for his appearance in popular TV shows in the 90s – one such example is: playing the role of Bodi in Humayun Ahmed's "Kothao Keu Nei".
"Matir Kole", "Tin Tekka", "Nitu Tomake Bhalobashi", "Nokkhotrer Raat", "Shobuj Sathi", "Agun Laga Shondhya", "Amader Choto Nodi", "Durer Akash", "Harano Sur", "Ei Shei Konthoshor", "Bohurupi", and "Ek Jonome", are some of his most well-known television projects.
Alongside his acting career, Kader worked for a shoe company, Bata, for many years.
He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter to mourn his death.
