Stocks witness up on large-cap vibe

Stocks on Sunday witnessed upward trend as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges were found rising with higher activities of some large-cap securities.
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 73.72 points or 1.16 per cent to settle at 6,447.07, reports BSS.
Two other indices also ended higher with the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, rose 21.70 points to finish at 2,159.92 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) advanced 10.74 points to close at 1,398.06.
At DSE, out of the day's 394 securities, prices of 165 securities closed higher against 196 losing issues.
The day's trade value at the DSE decreased to Taka 18,525.12 million which was Taka 18,577.54 million at the previous session of the week.
The major gaining issues were SBACBANK, SIBL, HRTEX, ARAMITCEM and PRIMEFIN while the major losing companies were SHYAMPSUG, INTECH, BEACHHATCH, RENATA and CENTRALPHL.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with an upward trend with its major CASPI 309.33 points up at 18,605.23.
At the CSE, 294 issues were traded. Of those, 128 closed higher and 146 closed lower when 1.06 crore shares worth Taka 23.81 crore changed hands.
