Country's both the bourses-- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – on Monday plunged further due to mainly price fall in large-cap securities.

DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 83.63 points or 1.39 percent to 5,932.28, reports BSS.

Two other indices also ended sharply lower with the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, plunged 30.82 points to finish at 2,153.54 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 14.46 points to close at 1,270.81.

Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, decreased to Tk 11430.23 million, which was Tk 20100.89 million at the previous session of the week.

Out of 403 issues traded, 337 declined, 53 advanced and 13 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.

GP topped the turnover chart, followed by BRACBANK, TECHNODRUG, ROBI and IFIC.

ATLASBANG was the day's top gainer, posting 9.97 percent gain while CENTRALPHL was the worst loser, losing 3 percent.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended sharply lower with the CSE All Share Price Index - CASPI -losing 124.91 points to settle at 17,157.55 and the Selective Categories Index - CSCX shedding 85.23 points to close at 10,333.48.

Of the issues traded, 186 declined, 68 advanced and 15 issues remained unchanged on the CSE.

The port city's bourse traded 84.12 lakh shares and mutual fund units with turnover value worth about Tk 20.17 crore.
