A group of students on Monday demanded postponement of the 41st Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary examinations scheduled for March 19.
They placed their demand at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity in Segunbagicha in Dhaka on Monday.
They urged that the date of examinations, set by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission, should be rescheduled taking into account the opening of universities and college halls, and vaccination activities.
In a written statement, Yasir Shamim on behalf of the students said, “Like other countries in the world, the Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh has started deteriorating again. At this time, if the examinees, including their parents, gather for this purpose, the situation may deteriorate further.”
“So, we want that the government reschedule the BSC exams after completing the vaccination activities.”
The number of applicants in 41st BCS exams is as many as four lakh seventy-five thousand. The test will be taken simultaneously in Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal, and Mymensingh.
