Evercare Hospital Ctg launches centre for diabetes, endocrine

Evercare Hospital Chattogram on Sunday launched a new centre for diabetic care and endocrine diseases

The centre comprises six separate clinics: diabetes wellness, obesity, lipid, pregnancy diabetes and hormone, thyroid and growth and puberty, according to a press statement.

At the centre, patients can primarily avail services for treating diabetes and diabetes-related complications as well as endocrine associated diseases.

Services for hormonal complications relating to pregnancy, as well as consultations and treatments for diabetic women wishing to conceive are also available at the centre.

Furthermore, services will be provided for obesity, weight gain, premature/late puberty, and puberty-related height issues.

The operations of the Centre of Excellence for diabetic care and endocrine diseases will be led by Dr Mohammad Mahmudul Kabir who also serves as the associate consultant in the diabetology and endocrinology department at the hospital.

Dr Mohammad Mahmudul Kabir MBBS, MD (endocrinology) MCPS (medicine) said, “Thousands of deaths occur annually in Bangladesh due to endocrine diseases and diabetes is also becoming a prevalent issue amongst the country’s population.”

“Many people are still unaware of the importance of maintaining endocrine health. Keeping this in mind, it is an absolute honour for me to head this centre which will provide essential services to the people of Chattogram,” he added.

Gurvinder Singh Anand, director of operations, Dr Prakash Kundur Narasimhaiah, director of medical service, Dr Mohammad Mahmudul Kabir, associate consultant, were present during the announcement.
