CWCCI, IPDC launch help desk for port city women entrepreneurs

With the aim of helping women entrepreneurs and involving more women in business, a help desk for loans and financial assistance has been launched in the port city.

Through this, the Chittagong Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CWCCI) and IPDC Finance will help those who apply for bank loans.

Applicants can also submit their loan applications directly to the help desk.

The service was inaugurated at CWCCI seminar hall on Wednesday.

This help desk will provide free advisory services for loans and provide necessary documents for applicants.

Under the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Development project, CWCCI and IPDC Financial Ltd jointly established the help desk for women entrepreneurs.

A total of 33 banks and financial organisations have collaborated on the project and qualified applicants can get loans easily based on the size of their business and the goods or services they are selling.

The project is being implemented by the Asian Development Bank and Bangladesh Bank.

SME entrepreneurs can get loans at 6 percent interest rate under this project.
