Former All European Awami League leader MA Gani passes away

Adviser and former general secretary of All European Awami League and highly respected and long-time social worker MA Gani died at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London at 9:30am (Bangladesh Time) on Wednesday

He had been infected by COVID-19.

Gani hailed from Patharghata, Chattagram and although he migrated to the UK in the late 1960s, he never lost his love and deep commitment to his motherland, reads a press release.

He was a fearless democratic leader and fought against the oppression and dictatorship of all military leaderships and conspiracies right from the Ayub Khan era.

He was a close associate of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana, daughters of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman

He leaves behind his widow Shireen Gani, children and grandchildren.
