Prof Shibli Rubayat reappointed as BSEC Chairman

Prof Shibli Rubayat-Ul Islam has been reappointed as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for another four-year term.
The Finance Ministry issued a circular in this regard on Sunday.
According to the circular, Prof Shibli Rubayat has been reappointed as Chairman as per the Section 5 (6) of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange
Commission Act, 1993, for a four-year term commencing from May 17, 2024, or the date of assumption of duties.
Earlier, on April 4, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina consented to the ministry's recommendation for his reappointment.
Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam was appointed as the chief of the capital market regulatory body on May 17, 2020. His tenure expires on May 16 this year, leaving only 13 working days until then.
