Buriganga being plluted due to illegal grabbing

Buriganga, the lifeline of Dhaka, has been turned into a polluted river. Industrial and domestic wastes are being dumped directly into the river.

The river water is continuously being polluted. The Buriganga River is rampantly being grabbed by the political influential and businessmen. Residents of both banks of the river distressed due to odors of the polluted water of the river. Pictures were taken from Khalunagar area of Kamrangichar.

Farming activities are on grabbing both the sides of the river

Garages for rickshaw-van have been setup

The local people are crossing the river with wooden-made small boat

Garbage are floating on the Buriganga

A minor boy was seen washing fish scales

The canals of Buriganga have turned into garbage dumping station
