Homebound people crowd at Kamalapur Railway Station on Saturday to get their advance train tickets ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. The tickets are available in five spots across the capital - Kamalapur, Airport, Cantonment, Tejgaon railway stations and Fulbaria in the capital.
On the first day, the tickets for April 27 are being sold, while half of the tickets will be sold in counters and remaining half will be sold online.
Ticket sales began at 8.00am and will continue until 4.00pm. People can purchase the advance train tickets for celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr until May 1.
The advance tickets of April 28, 29, 30 and May 1 will be available on April 24, 25, 26 and 27 respectively. Besides, return tickets for May 1, 2, 3, 4 will be available on May 5, 6, 7 and 8 respectively.
However, people have to collect tickets after showing their NID cards or birth registration certificate. Each passenger will be able to buy maximum four tickets and the tickets are not subject to return.
