Dhaka (Dec 19, 2020): India began batting in the second innings with a 53-run lead. Everybody was expecting a competitive Test match in Adelaide as India has a formidable batting line up led by Captain Virat Kohli.
But it was not the case. India made a history by scoring their lowest Test score and second lowest of all teams. They were bowled out for 36 runs as no Indian batsman survived the Aussie fast bowlers.
Hazlewood took 5 wickets for 8 runs and Pat Cummins 4 for 21. Number 11 batter Mohammad Shami was retired hurt.
Australia chased the target of 90 runs by losing only two wickets. Opener Joe Burns was unbeaten on 51. Tim Paine was the player of the match for his unbeaten 73 runs in the first innings.
The second Test in Melbourne will start on December 26.
Virat Kohli will miss the remaining three matches of the series as he will return to home for the birth of his first child.
