Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk wants to return stronger after learning that he needs a knee surgery due to the injury he sustained during the 2-2 draw at Everton.
He was unable to continue following a rash challenge by Toffees keeper Jordan Pickford in the first half on Saturday, reports BBC Sport.
In a tweet posted in the early hours of Monday, the 29-year-old centre-back said that he is now fully focussed on his recovery and will do everything he can to be back as quickly as possible.

“Despite the obvious disappointment, I’m a firm believer that within difficulty lies opportunity and with God’s help I’m going to make sure I return better, fitter and stronger than ever before,” he wrote in the tweet.
However, it’s still unclear for how long the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury will keep him out of the game. The knee surgery is yet to be arranged.
