Khulna beats Barishal by 48 runs

Gemcon Khulna beat Fortune Barishal by 48 runs on Friday at the capital’s Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. 

This is the third win for Khulna among five matches they’ve played so far in Bangabandhu T20 Cup and 11th match of the tournament. 

The player of the match, Zakir Hasan from Gemcon Khulna hit a fifty that helped Gemcon Khulna make a total of 173 in 20 overs while losing six wickets. 

Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad tried to thrive, but couldn’t establish a solid start. Shakib scored 14 runs while Mahmudullah scored 24.

Chasing the target set by Khulna, Barishal got all out scoring 125 runs with one ball left to play.

Tamim Iqbal, Towhid Hridoy were the only two batsmen who passed the 30-score mark for Barishal scoring 32 and 33 respectively. 

On Khulna’s side, right-arm spinner Shuvagata Hom took two wickets by bowling three overs. He gave only 18 runs in return, 13 of which was given in his very first over.
