No one showed interest to bye Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan on the first day of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction. His name will come up again on Sunday.

Players like Steven Smith, Suresh Raina were gone unsold as well. In form, Shakib had set his base price INR 2 crore. 

Shakib has played in nine editions of IPL so far -- six times for Kolkata Knight Riders and twice for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shakib has scored a total of 793 runs and claimed 63 wickets from 71 matches played in IPL.  

Apart from Shakib,  four other Bangladeshi players Mustafizur Rahman, Liton Das, Taskin Ahmed and Shariful Islam -- have listed themselves in the auction.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer fetched the highest bid at INR 12.25. Looks like Kolkata Knight Riders have found their skipper in him. They also bought Pat Cummins for INR 7.25 crore.

Punjab Kings were also very active early on, buying Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada at 8.25 and 9.25 crore, respectively.

Lucknow Super Giants picked Quinton de Kock for 6.75 crore.

Rajasthan Royal bagged R Ashwin for INR 5 crore and Trent Boult for INR 8 crore

David Warner reunites with at INR 6.25 crore.
