Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was scheduled to return from South Africa on Monday evening after several members of his family were hospitalised. But he changed his decision and will stay in South Africa.
Bangladesh team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon confirmed the matter through a video message on Monday.
Sujon said that Shakib has a medical emergency. His family members are sick. That was why he had a dilemma in his mind. A ticket was booked for him. But Shakib wanted to stay. He was supposed to return to the country, but now he's going to play the last ODI.
Shakib's mother Shirin Akhtar is admitted to Evercare Hospital with a heart problem while his two daughters and son are also in the same hospital as they are suffering from fever and pneumonia.
His mother-in-law is also hospitalised at CMH with cancer and their physical conditions.
