Ministry to give national award to 85 sports personalities

The Ministry of Youth and Sports has named 85 sportsmen/organisers who will be awarded with the prestigious 'National Sports Award' on Wednesday for their contribution in the country's sports.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the programme virtually and distribute the awards as the chief guest. The event will be held at the city's Osmani Memorial Auditorium, a Youth and Sports Ministry release said.

Zahid Ahsan Russel Mohammad, the state Minister for Youth and Sports mentioned the details at a press conference held on Tuesday at the conference room of National Sports Council in the city.

Each of the awardee will receive an 18-carat gold medal weighing 25 grams, a cheque of Tk 1 lakh and a certificate.
