SL look rock-solid on day 1

After winning the toss, Sri Lanka decided to bat first in the first Test against Bangladesh. However, they lost their skipper Dimuth Karunaratne early. He walked off after scoring nine runs.

But the other opener, Oshada Fernando was looking sharp. He and Kushal Mendis had a decent partnership following the departure of Karunaratne. 

And just when the partnership had started to propel, Nayeem Hasan got the set batter's wicket as Fernando nicked one behind to the keeper. Nayeem trapped Karunaratne as well.

At the time of writing this report, Mendis and Angelo Mathews were in the middle. Both were looking really sharp. Mendis already smashed a half-century, while Mathews needed eight more runs to reach 50 runs.

After the end of 52 overs, the visitors were, 143 for two.
