Bashundhara Kings lift BPL trophy for 3rd time in a row

Bashundhara Kings created history in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) as they became hat-trick champions immediately after debuting in 2018 at the country's top level football.
The Kings defeated Saif Sporting Club by 2-0 at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Monday to lift the title. They bagged 51 points from 20 matches. Even if they lose their next two matches, second place of the table Dhaka Abahani will not be able to equilise them.
Mohammed Motin Mia found the net in the 28th minute of the game to make the scoreline 1-0 for his side. But soon after Yeasin Arafat had to leave the pitch as he was shown a red card.
The scoreline remained the same in the first half as both teams were unable to score any goal.
However, in the second half, Saif Sporting were looking really sharp but unfortunately, could not convert any attract into a goal.
Later in the 81st minute, Biplo Ahmed netted the second goal of the match to seal the victory for the Kings.
From 2007, the Premier League was renamed as a professional league and Dhaka Abahani won the first three seasons of the league, the highest number of titles in the professional league so far while Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club won the title for two successive times but missed out on a hat-trick chance.
