Mushfiqur Rahim sustained an injury in his left knee at the time of doing fitness work in the gymnasium of Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Saturday.
The wicketkeeper-batter who has recently retired from T20Is has to stay out of action for at least two weeks. The cut required six stitches and they will be removed after at least a week.
The experienced player will return to action in the international arena when the Tigers play against India in November in the Test series.
Earlier, he informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) that he would take part in the first-class National Cricket League (NCL) tournament which is scheduled to start on October 10.
