United Arab Emirates (UAE) won the toss and asked Bangladesh to bat in the first T20I match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
These two sides have faced each other only once before in this format. That was in the Asia Cup in 2016, and Bangladesh were comfortable winners by 51 runs.
However, Bangladesh are struggling in the shortest format of the game and they are trying to bounce back from the failure. They will focus on creating a winning culture ahead of the T20 World Cup which will be held in Australia in October.
Meanwhile, it is a good opportunity for UAE to see how far they have come going into the big event.
