Mustafizur retained by Delhi for 2023 IPL

Mustafizur Rahman became the first Bangladeshi player to get a team in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as Delhi Capitals retained the seamer.
Mustafizur was bought by Delhi for INR 2 crore during the IPL 2022 auction. No one gave hard time to Delhi to get the Bangladeshi quick.
Mustafizur's name came up in the fourth round of the auction. The Capitals made the opening bid for him, who was listed at the highest base price of INR 2 crore and bought him with that asking price.
The wicketkeeper-batter Rishab Pant will lead the side again. In the last session, Delhi finished fifth and failed to play in the playoffs. They released five players - Tim Seifert, Shardul Thakur (traded to Kolkata Knight Riders), Mandeep Singh, KS Bharat and Ashwin Hebbar.
The mini-auction of the IPL will take place on 23 December where the Capitals can spend INR 19.45 crore for five available spots.
