The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) on Sunday launched an initiative, FBCCI Tech C, to lend international standard support to country's tech startups.

In a webinar, the apex business body of the country launched the initiative where Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni joined as the chief guest.

Residing under the FBCCI Impact 4.0 initiative, Tech C, as a homage to the birth centenary of our father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, aims to develop human resources skills at the mass level, aligned with the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).

With a vision to train startups to impart the required skills in deep-tech, FBCCI Tech C has signed agreements with international organisations like the University of Toronto and Seneca College in Canada, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) of USA and Accelerating Asia of Singapore.

"I believe this is a very timely initiative from FBCCI. In the current world scenario, we need to build capacity in technology and such initiative will help us to reach that goal," said Dipu Moni.

ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the government has already taken a lot of initiatives to support the tech industry in line with its vision of achieving a Digital Bangladesh.

"Such moves from the private sector will enhance the government’s moves," he said.

Syed Farhat Anwar, director of the Institute of Business Administration, said with such initiatives, the local startups will be enabled to collaborate with global leaders in their respective fields.
