DSCC launches five-year trade license issue, renewal prog

South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh has inaugurated the five-year trade license issue and renewal programme to make businesses easier than before.

Taposh came up with the announcement after inaugurating a trade license services booth at Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) office in the capital on Thursday noon.

It was a long-standing demand for the businessmen as they had to renew their trade licenses every year. Sometimes, most of the traders forget it, Taposh said at the inaugural session.

In order to simplify those matters, he said, “We have started the 5-year trade license issuance and renewal process through a digital platform as per the existing law for the first time in Bangladesh. From now on, the traders can avail of the renewal facilities for one year, two years, three years, or four years or up to a maximum of five years after obtaining the trade permission.”

The journey has begun from the DCCI as the largest and most vibrant business chamber in Bangladesh has established itself as the focal point of business and commerce in the capital, said the DSCC mayor.

“We will ensure revenue service through the two weeks from the first week of July every year," Taposh expressed his optimism.

Commercial bond between the DCCI and the DSCC has been strengthened through the initiative, he said adding, “We all will have to march forward together to attain a common goal of increasing growth of trade and commerce.”
