Govt to award 77 exporters with National Export Trophy today

The government will award 77 exporters with the National Export Trophy today for their outstanding performance in the country's export earnings for the fiscal year 2021-22.
The award will be given to those who brought the highest amount of export proceeds in the country, reports BSS.
"Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to hand over the trophy at a programme at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital at 10.30 am tomorrow," State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu made the announcement at a press conference today at Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) Building in the city.
Commerce Secretary Md Selim Uddin and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) Vice Chairman Md Anwar Hossain were present at the conference.
Among the 77 exporters, Rifat Garments Ltd from the readymade garment (RMG) woven category is set to receive the highest recognition, the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Export Trophy for the highest export earnings in the fiscal 2021-22.
Including Rifat Garments, the government will recognise the exporters in 28 categories for their contributions to the country's export earnings and the overall economy.
The recognition will be given in three categories -- gold, silver and bronze. Some 28 firms have been named for gold awards, 27 for silver and the rest 21 for bronze awards.
