Work resumes at RMG factories in full swing

The RMG factories across the country including in Ashulia remained open and operative in full swing with the presence of the workers in full capacity.

The development came following the successful meeting among the government, RMG factory owners, workers and union leaders at the Ministry of Industries yesterday and thus issuance of a joint statement putting an end to the stalemate of last three weeks in the key industrial belt including in Ashulia, reports BSS.

In a statement issued tonight, BGMEA President Khandaker Rafiqul Islam extended his heartfelt thanks to the RMG workers for resuming their work in a disciplined manner today.

He also called upon the garment workers to supplement the efforts for keeping the wheel of the country’s economy operative through discharging their respective duties properly.

The BGMEA president mentioned that the RMG factories have been able to return to their normal production with the combined efforts from the government, RMG owners, workers, labour leaders, Bangladesh Army, law enforcement agencies and other concerned stakeholders.

He also thanked all concerned in this regard.
