India’s leopard population increases by 60% in 4 years

The population of leopard in India has increased by 60 percent, according to the ‘Status of Leopard in India 2018’ report released on Monday.
Referring to the report, Union environment minister Prakash Javadekar tweeted that India now has 12,852 leopards.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to the Twitter on Tuesday morning to congratulate those working on the conservation of leopards, which showed a 60% jump in their numbers since 2014.
